Happy Independence Day, Armenia! Leader School celebrates 33rd Anniversary of the Republic!
September 21 is one of the most important dates in the Armenian people history, the day when the Republic of Armenia independence was proclaimed. We are proud to celebrate this significant event and honor the memory of those who fought for the freedom and sovereignty of our Motherland.
On September 21, 1991, relying on the provisions of the Armenian Declaration of Independence, the parliament made a historic decision to hold a nationwide referendum. Citizens of the republic unanimously spoke in favor of secession from the USSR and gaining the long-awaited independence. This day has become an unity symbol, courage and unshakable will of the Armenian people for self-determination.
The referendum results were widely recognized internationally. 48 states declared recognition of the Republic of Armenia independence, which was an important step towards strengthening it’s position on the world stage. On March 2, 1992, Armenia became a full member of the United Nations, reaffirming it’s status as a sovereign and independent state.
At Leader School, we pay special attention to fostering a patriotism sense and respect for the history of our country among our pupils. On this significant day, the school hosted thematic events dedicated to Independence Day. The pupils took part in patriotic flash mobs, prepared concert performances dedicated to the Artsakh war heroes and honored the memory of the Armenian soldiers-liberators with a silence minute. These events became an important part of the educational process, allowing pupils to better understand the significance of this day for the Armenian people.
This year the Third Republic celebrates its 33rd anniversary. This is a reason not only to remember the past, but also to think about the future, about what contribution each of us can make for the development and prosperity of Armenia.
Leader School congratulates all residents of Armenia, the Armenian diaspora around the world and, of course, our pupils, teachers and parents on Independence Day! We wish peace, well-being and prosperity to our Motherland!
